Welcome To The Volunteer Corner...

The Ralph Thornton Centre is a place where all of our volunteers are valued and appreciated. We are especially thankful for those volunteers who have been with our organization for a long period of time…

Volunteer Information

If you are interested in volunteering at the Ralph Thornton Centre, the first step to your journey is to COMPLETE a volunteer application form. You can download the application form from our website, or take a trip to the centre located at 765 Queen St. East. After you have completed the application form, kindly leave it with Sandra, our wonderful receptionist.

Your application will then be screened and Paulette, our Volunteer and Special Events Coordinator, will contact you for an interview.

You can also check out our Volunteer Board which is located on the 3rd floor of the centre. The board will have detailed job descriptions, upcoming workshops and events for volunteers, and special orientation and training dates.

  Benefits of Volunteering

We take pride in our volunteers and we strive to make the experience a worth while venture. If you are a high school student looking to complete 40 hours of volunteering, which is now mandatory, we are more than willing to assist students in that area.

Volunteering at the Ralph Thornton Centre enables you to participate in the “Volunteer Development Program,” where there will be great opportunities such as training, orientation, special workshops, and special events specifically for our volunteers.
We also celebrate volunteer recognition week in April, where our volunteers are presented with certificates, as well as other special incentives.

We appreciate all the dedication and hard work that our volunteers put in to our organization, because without our volunteers, most of our programs would not exist. Therefore upon success, we will be more than willing to supply our volunteers with reference letters, or any kind of support they may need.
