COMMUNITY
GROUPS
Riverdale Community Development Institute (RCDI)
The Riverdale Community Development Institute recruits students who want a group placement from the following disciplines: urban geography/planning, community development/social work, business, and environmental studies. Each student works on an individual project in addition to a joint or common project in which all students share a role. Currently students' individual projects include supporting community development projects with low income families, researching sustainable land use for development in the Portlands, planning educational and special events, and assisting in community revitalization projects. In addition, students work together on a common project. In 2000-2001 students have been instrumental in supporting the Ralph Thornton Centre Save the Building Campaign.
For more information contact Joanne Fisher at (416) 392-6810 , visit the RCDI website www.rcdi.ca or e-mail enquiries to joannef@rcdi.ca.
