Ralph Thornton Centre Board  hires a new Executive Director

The Ralph Thornton Centre Board of Management is pleased to announce the appointment of new Executive Director Shawn Conway, effective June 12, 2006

Shawn Conway has 15 years experience in community development and is deeply committed to social justice. His most recent position was at St Christopher House where played a major role in the development of the Community Banking Project in Parkdale has been running the successful Financial Advocacy and Problems Solving program and. A skilled communicator, Shawn is also a volunteer Community Mediator with the St Stephen's Conflict Resolution Services. Shawn also managed the Beat the Street program, and worked with Canada World Youth and the Katimavik program.

“We are thrilled that Shawn is coming to Ralph Thornton Centre” said Tracy Horvath, President of the Board of Management. “ He brings an exciting vision of neighbourhood development and tremendous experience in strategic planning to the table”
