John Campey, RTCC Executive Director is Retiring
Recently, John Campey officially submitted notice of his retirement, effective January 27, 2024. John has been in the Executive Director role at RTCC for almost a decade now and during that time he brought a renewed energy and creativity – and Copper – to the role. In his letter John expressed his gratitude to many board members and volunteers he has worked with over the years, but also to the staff team.
“It goes without saying (but I will say it anyway!) that RTCC would not exist without its amazing staff – nothing that we have accomplished over the past years would have been possible without the people who have been here since I arrived – Mark Johnson, Janice Zhang, Susy Glass, Rose Scher, Ian Sieunarine – and those who have joined us since – Glenn Gustafson, Colleen Gray, Lainey Little, Wenlin Huang, Stephen Devine, Ming Redmonds, Conley Downey, Mariah Wheeler, Maia Richard – and the other casual, relief, and seasonal staff who have shown amazing dedication to both their work and to the Centre. I could not have asked for better, more supportive colleagues than Glenn and Colleen.”
The Board of Management is actively working on finding a replacement for John and a job posting will be up soon. Plans are also underway for an event to recognize John and his contributions to RTCC in the fall. Stay tuned.
