Fall Highlights in Our After School Program
This fall was filled with creativity, learning, and lots of joyful moments in our After School Program. The children dove into a wide variety of fun and meaningful activities that celebrated the season, our community, and each other.

One of the highlights of the season was our amazing Halloween party! The program was full of excitement as children arrived in their costumes and enjoyed a festive afternoon of themed games, activities, and treats. There was plenty of laughter, creativity, and spooky fun as everyone took part, making it a memorable celebration for children and staff alike.
As winter approached, the children got hands-on with seasonal crafts, creating individual snowmen and beautiful snow globes, each one as unique as its creator. These projects encouraged creativity, fine motor skills, and plenty of imagination. We wrapped up the year with a festive end-of-year party that was full of games, laughter, music, and activities for everyone to enjoy—a wonderful way to celebrate all we had shared together.
Throughout the fall, we also spent time learning about Anishinaabe values with the Seven Grandfather Teachings. Together, we discussed the meanings of Respect and Wisdom, and how these teachings can guide us in our daily interactions with others. We look forward to exploring more of the Seven Grandfather Teachings in the new year as we continue to learn and grow together.

Celebrating diversity was an important focus this term. Each child painted their own flag representing their heritage, which are now proudly displayed in our program space. This project sparked meaningful conversations about culture, identity, and the many backgrounds that make our community so special. It was wonderful to see the children take pride in who they are while learning about and appreciating one another.
In Little Chefs, the children had a blast building their cooking skills and confidence in the kitchen. We baked muffins, prepared soup, and ended the year by making tasty gingerbread treats. These delicious creations were enjoyed together at our year-end party and were a big hit! Cooking activities helped promote teamwork, following directions, and trying new foods—all while having fun.
Overall, the fall season was full of connection, creativity, and growth. We are so proud of everything the children accomplished and can’t wait to continue our journey together in the new year!
